Spring is the season when Morocco is at its best, and the Easter break is the perfect chance to visit it.
The days are long and warm, the Atlas valleys are green and in blossom and in the desert you sleep without the cold of the winter nights.
With a flight of less than three hours from Italy, even 4 or 5 days are enough to see the dunes of the Sahara.
Itineraries for the Easter break
Weather and what to pack
At Easter in Marrakech and Fes you are comfortable in short sleeves during the day, while in the evening you need a sweatshirt. In the Atlas there may still be snow on the peaks and in the desert the nights are cool.
- A light jacket for the evening.
- Comfortable shoes.
- Sunglasses.
- Sun cream.

Booking in good time
Easter is among the busiest periods of the year: it is best to fix flights and tour a few months ahead.
Besides the group departures, all our itineraries are available as private tours, which start on the day you arrive and are booked with a deposit, with the balance paid on arrival. If the dates of your break do not match a ready-made itinerary, we adapt it by adding or removing a night.
Frequently asked questions about Easter in Morocco
When does Easter fall in 2027 and in 2028?
In 2027 Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027 and Easter Monday 29 March 2027; in 2028 Easter falls on 16 April 2028 and Easter Monday on 17 April 2028. With one day off before or after you get a 4–5 day break, enough for a tour in the desert.
What is the weather like in Morocco at Easter?
In Marrakech and Fes the days are mild, generally between 20 and 28 °C. In the desert it is hot during the day, but not too hot, and in the evening the temperature drops: a sweatshirt or a light jacket is enough.
Which tour should you choose for a 4 or 5 day break?
From Marrakech the 3-day tour to Merzouga leaves a free day for the city; with 4 days you can go as far as Fes, crossing the desert. If you prefer cities, northern Morocco from Tangier is well worth 5 days.
Is Easter a busy time?
It is one of the most sought-after periods for European travellers, so flights and accommodation should be booked in advance. In the desert and in the Atlas villages the atmosphere stays quiet all the same.
Can the tour be combined with a few days by the sea?
Yes: after the tour we can arrange a transfer to Essaouira or another spot on the Atlantic coast for a few days of relaxing.
